Inexpensive Option for Second Internet Connection
« on: December 29, 2014, 08:44:17 PM »
I would've thought there'd be a thread on this, but tried searching and couldn't find anything....
I need to add a totally separate internet line in my house. I won't need it for too much data per month, definitely 1 gb or less. I was thinking pre-paid..so I will not be tied down to a contract.
What is my best option?
And please don't recommend FreedomPop, I purchased one from them and can't get it to work, and besides they have no customer support at all.
TIA

I know someone in lakewood who uses a t-mobile USB internet stick
Workflowy. You won't know what you're missing until you try it.

From what I've heard, T-Mobile in Lakewood is terrible. Your best bet is probably to get a cheap smartphone that you can tether and get the Page Plus 1gb plan.

t-mobile is not so bad although it depends on where and they have recently been upgrading their towers around lakewood
does page plus allow you to tether or will the phone need to be rooted
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

Verizon will block tethering.

So there aren't any decent prepaid options out there?
