The SB really has a chance to be special.

The two best teams are playing, not very often you can say that.
Patriots have a ton of legacy on the line. Very different 3-3 vs. 4-2.
Seahawks have a chance to go down as possible the greatest defense ever

45-7 late and he is throwing a bomb? That is why no one likes this coach.
You may not like him, but he's gone to 6 SBs, SIX!

Indeed
Who here thinks 4 an 0 in the SB is better than 4-2?
I think that's ridiculous.
If Brady wins this SB, he's the greatest ever in my books.
I'm not sure I agree with you. But 3-3 is a real problem. 2-0 is better than 3-3

Why is 3 and 3 a real problem? It shows 6 years of greatness. And a 50% rate of beating one of the top 2 teams in the league.

And don't forget, both those losses were to the giants who were not the best team in the league either year (coming from a giant fan) and the patriots were better both those years

They have given up 8 points a game for the past eight games. They shut down Brady and Gronk, they are in the conversation

No way do they rank with Steelers/Bears/Ravens

You have a small book.
Very small book. The only 4 I believe to be candidates for best NFL player ever are Peyton Manning (yes - Peyton Manning, his regular season performance is that much better that it might overcome his pathetic post season record), LT, Joe Montana and Tom Brady.

You hear of guys like Walter Payton, Jerry Rice or Jim Brown?

Yes, besides for Walter Payton, they're all in the top 6 in my books.

Top 4 - Manning, Brady, LT and Montanna - 1 - 4 in no particular order.
5-6 Jim Brown and Jerry Rice.

Walter Payton #3 running back. Maybe top 15 player.

I would totally agree with that, except for the fact that the Seahawks are doing it in the current NFL rules environment, which is offense-weighted to say the least.

How you define greatest ever is going to largely depend on how one views the importance of various positions to the game. Rice will never make a dent in any serious discussion about the greatest NFL player ever simply because it's nearly impossible to argue that WR is the most important position in the sport. Payton and Brown are really serious contenders, but again, whether you go with a Brown or a Montana will likely have more to do with how one views their positions than anything else. Nowadays it's hard to imagine the role a dominant running back played in the early days of the sport. Same goes for defense. The LT camp is there because they feel defense is more important than offense, LB is the most important defender, and LT was the best LB ever.

The reason why LT is in the discussion is because he changed the way the game is played. Nothing to do with

Just because they don't play the version of smash mouth defense that you associate with greatness doesn't mean they are not in that discussion

It is called dominating games. Take the 85 Bears. Look at the playoff games. Two shutouts and 10 points in the SB. This Seattle team comes no where near that. It is a joke to compare them to these teams. Even if they shutout NE they still don't belong. What if NE scores big?

The reason why LT is in the discussion is because he changed the way the game is played.
I thought it was the 46 defense that change the game.  :)
