Well, because Eli Manning is the GOAT, duh.
You're not seriously arguing this at this point, are you?

No, I'm not going that far. I'm just enjoying myself, specifically, that Eli, for all of his many faults, is what stands between TB12 and soon to be 8 Lombardis on 8 tries. Is that a problem? Is it the Three Weeks or something?

Fair enough. And as a Mets fan, I guess that's all you have to enjoy.
Although TB12 could just as easily be 7-0 as he could be 1-6. Pretty crazy

Yup. The way I look at it is that he often had good luck to win when he won and mostly bad luck to lose when he lost.

I mean, that's actually one of the craziest parts. You can double check this, but I'm 90% sure that all 7 of his SB's were decided by less than a TD, which generally means that one lucky play either way influenced it. That said, it may not be a coincidence that they usually ended up on the right side of it, knowing how to finish games offensively or defensively, and not just play 3 quarters, like the Seahawks, Falcons (or Jags yesterday), etc.

As Bill Barnwell always points out, winning close games is the most unrepeatable skill in the NFL. Except if your name is Brady, Tom
http://grantland.com/features/andrew-luck-2014-nfl-season-indianapolis-colts-close-games/
His win percentage was .711 in 2014.
In 7 games, a win percentage of .711 would give you an expected win total of...... 4.977. So I wouldn't call it luck or a coincidence

You can’t look at his record and say it’s due to luck, but you can still see that some individual games were. In Seattle the game was already out of his hands. He got lucky.

Yes and no. You're right that if Seattle or Atlanta runs the ball after two of the best forgotten catches of all time, his ring count is different. That said, that's part of the point. When he needed points, he always came through; when the other team needed points, they didn't. Obviously the latter half is luck/defense/coaching, but the contrast highlights that he's never messed it up. Of course, when Eli needed points for his team...

Total margin of victory in the 7 superbowls is 28. Crazy.
Total point differential is 14

It is. That's why I feel uncomfortable putting money on my prediction, which is that they will eclipse that point differential in this one game.

Just watched the video at the bottom here. Awesome. Never heard the story about Tyree's terrible practice on the Friday before the SB before

Man, good times.
Also never heard the story about Manning hesitating at the line to tell Bradshaw not to score

Thanks. Even though I'm feeling 14+, if I only need 5.5, I just might take it.

The Tyree story is famous. If you have a chance, watch the whole thing (10 yr anniversary coming up):https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fxjifaETK2o

Also, Strahan was michaven to the Ohr Hachaim in this week's parsha ("Believe it and it will happen")

Inside info on the prop bet. Bet the house on over.
http://www.msn.com/en-us/music/news/pink-reveals-she-has-the-flu-ahead-of-big-super-bowl-performance-please-give-me-my-voice-back/ar-BBIEg3a?li=BBmkt5R&ocid=ientp
Make sense?

"She’s expected to go over, because the line is set at -150, with the under at +130. If you take the over, that means you’d have to bet $100 to win $150. If you take the under, you’d have to bet $130 to win $100."
