My Samsung s4 is broken and need to get a new one, is the s6 the way to go or stick with the s5?

Your choice. Both are good devices. Are you using an upgrade? We're talking the difference of $200 if so.
One has removable battery and a place for a micro sd and the other doesn't.
The s6 has a more premium design build and bumped up specs etc.

Also, as always there are other options out there besides the Galaxy s line. :)

Thanks.

I'm using a Verizon edge upgrade so both would be free (the s5 would allow for a credit on my bill as it's cheaper) so the price isn't really a factor.

I know there is no longer a removable battery or SD card. It did say something about charging via wifi but I don't know what that means. It also implied that the s6 will charge more quickly even though it has slightly less battery life. Any information on either of those claims?

Aside from the 2 major issues (battery and SD card) is the s6 a better phone or does it not offer any enhancement other than "looking cool"?

I don't have Verizon so I don't know how EDGE works 100% but while they may be free one is definitely cheaper than the other. And honestly, they're not free.
And it may be more cost effective to buy a NEW s5 online from ebay. Meanwhile if price still isn't an issue then it will come down to preferences.

I'd say the diff I'd look at were battery, camera, micro sd, waterproof and price. Those are the differences I personally would focus on.

Yes.  Only downside is the Non removable battery and No SD card

And potentially worse battery life. Though not necessarily much.

In every way.
1. Faster
2. Fingerprint done right (faster than the iphone)
3. Camera tops the IPhone 6, best yet on a smartphone.
4. Etc......

have to agree that spec wise its better. camera is also way better on s6.  $200 to go from 32gb to 128gb is kind of absurd (a micro sd of 128 is less than $100), but I could deal with that. Waterproof is nice, but not a killer, however the non removable battery would really make me pause. If you can deal with those 3 things, then go for the s6.
The qi/powermat charging is nice, but it's slow.  It also has quick charge which can charge at about 1% per minute or so.

Yes, the non removable battery is a deal breaker for me, but the specs are really tempting.

Don't know. I wouldn't go for LG unless they really do an outstanding Job on the G4, and of course, have a removable battery

Happy I didn't hold off on buying a Note edge for this.

If I had the Note 4 I wouldn't have the Yetzer Hara for the S6, coming from the S5 is another story.

The note phones are to big for me.

Wish Samsung comes out with a removable battery option, like they do with the Galaxy Mini
