That's a personal question that will vary person to person.  I'd rather have the money.
But if you'd consider the s6 then go for an HTC One M8.

using the s5 today, cant see how much better the s6 can be in regards to specs as the s5 runs flawlessly

A galaxy s6 edge bug that I saw on some blogs just started on my phone without notice.  Stopped screen auto rotation even with the setting on.
The accelerometer seems dead.
