If u wait around they usually have better offers for their electric checking. On July 4th they were giving $76 and on black Friday they were giving $103. And it's usually a hard pull, the last time I check the terms they said so clearly.

Hard Pull

+1

Not worth it for $50 IMHO. Anyone know if they specifically only use one bureau?

Just wondering, is it really that bad to get a hard pull that it's not worth $50?

It I'm risking getting declined on a card that gives me $1,000 or more in value (Amex Plat, AA 75K etc.), then yes. All IMHO.

is it also because by a credit card's hard pull you have a way of earning back those points from your score by using the card properly, but not by a bank account?

on a related topic; ING savings has federal limit of 6 withdrawals/month. does that limit apply even when linked to an ING checking account?

IFAIK every bank has that limit by law, and I know with Chase the limit applied even between ur linked savings and checking accts. (they allow you to withdraw more then 6 time but they are supposedly required by law to charge u for it)

is it also because by a credit card's hard pull you have a way of earning back those points from your score by using the card properly, but not by a bank account?

The added credit of the new card lowers your total credit utilization which is seen as a good sign by the banks and credit scoring system and can actually raise your credit score after some time. And after 6 months the pull has even less of an affect of your credit score. But again, for rapid churners each pull lowers the score a bit temporally which in turn limits the amount of approvals they get, so it's best to save a pull for a big bonus.
