Thanks much for the info, its for a friend. I've flown CX in new F to YVR, so I know what CX entails. I would take a LH F on a 744 anytime over CX. JAL's new suites look pretty cool.

Maybe I misunderstood you.

I thought by "BA won't help," you meant that you had asked BA to honor the 5K fare.

10k for a RT.
Wow, never knew that. Thanks
Would they see the same availability as JAL? JAL didn't have availability for my return flight on PG

Just booked NRT-JFK in business, JL flight 004. According to seatguru it's most common for this route to be flown on 787-8 (788), which is angle-flat business. The better (and clearer) option is the earlier flight to JFK, 006 which is on their 777-300 with the lie-flat sky suite.

I'm happy to change to a flight 006, but i did some research on Flyertalk and poked around JAL and it seems that the sky suite is on flight 004 (it's the other option for this route in seat guru). Does anyone know if skysuite is on 004, or only 006?

This is my first award booking in business so any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!
