We did not experience any problems safe-wise our entire time there

ive been to cairo, twice to sharm, once to dahab, and about 15 times to taba. however the last time was in 2012 due to the lawlessness.

i really want to go to mount sinai, but ever since the kidnappings, ive been scared to venture too deep. my question was if it is now considered normal to go which would indicate stability.

I was in taba afterwards, it was not safe enough to do anything more.

What made you come to that conclusion?

Too many news stories of bombings and shootings. At one point nobody was going to taba either bc there was a bus bombing at the border.

IMHO Petra, Jordan is the safer trip to take out of Israel these days.

A friend of mine (who is a DDFer) told me he got a hotel employee fired for daring to ask them if they are jewish
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

For the Egypt-travellers here:

This is news to me...
1) You can travel into Egypt??
2) And safely? I can't imagine wearing a Yankees cap would do much to hide an identity there, or is it totally safe that you felt comfortable wearing a yarmulkah??
wear a mets cap and theyll feel sympathetic
