Call them up and tell them you want to book the award with miles from two separate accounts

like he said, as long as theres 67.5k in the other family mem account you can have them book one of the tickets from that account.
in terms of spg, its usually a quicker transfer, but it seems from ft that right now theyre having some transfer issues.

I thought it was more complicated because AA is very weary of people selling miles/tkx so i thought that could not be done.
Strange thing is as soon as my brother booked the 1 ticket with his miles, about 10 minutes later the miles posted from AA
almost like they maybe were holding out so people who took advantage of last weeks U fare issues would lose their hold before the transfer. a little far fetched but ....

update i got automatic credit for the extra 10k miles so total for 2 seats was 60k  funny the transaction date is from jan 25
