Friend just tried to book with no availability in J on UA, and rep checked if its available, but of course no availability, so couldn't book that. only with the Standard Award.

Data point: American Express did check American system for availability before booking, I booked New York- Los Angeles with AA F 32.k miles. The ticket cost with taxes was $1649.

How many miles will I earn? By the way

Another important data point:
After booking, I was going to book one for my wife, but the saver availability disappeared.

There was only 1 saver award available on that flight , when they searched for two they gave me the non saver amount, so I told them to book only one and I was going to book another one afterwards

If the email came Feb 26-27 then you should check it out that's when most people I know got the email.
