In totally new to Citi, and to the credit card game(April got approved for My first lineup of cards SPG BA Freedom) is it worth going for the AA card with $7500 spend? Obviously cover the spend by loading my account?

Closing my CitiGold account obliterated my Citi login (even though it was much older than the checking account- from credit cards) and now I have to make a new one to relink all the cards

Do I apply first for the AA card and then open the gold account? What other card should I apply for with that card. Will the load work from the AA card? Count towards the spend requirement? TIA

My wife just opened a Citigold account yesterday and today we called the number mentioned by Doctor of Credit to fund the account with credit cards over the phone. One of the cards we want to use is my wife’s Prestige card. The CA was set to zero. When we spoke with the agent, she asked her manager and she said that because the Prestige CA was 0, it could not fund the account. I mentioned it should be a POS transaction, but she said she tried it and it was rejected. She wasn’t willing to try using the BofA Alaska card we wanted to use to fund the rest. Is this the response most people get when calling by phone? We’ve already called the credit cards to pre-auth large purchases. If we fax in the form provided by Citi to use credit card funding, would we just get the same result (that it’s funded by CA)?

i funded by fax with the ca at 0 from the citi aa exec card and it went through
