My wife just opened a Citigold account yesterday and today we called the number mentioned by Doctor of Credit to fund the account with credit cards over the phone. One of the cards we want to use is my wife’s Prestige card. The CA was set to zero. When we spoke with the agent, she asked her manager and she said that because the Prestige CA was 0, it could not fund the account. I mentioned it should be a POS transaction, but she said she tried it and it was rejected. She wasn’t willing to try using the BofA Alaska card we wanted to use to fund the rest. Is this the response most people get when calling by phone? We’ve already called the credit cards to pre-auth large purchases. If we fax in the form provided by Citi to use credit card funding, would we just get the same result (that it’s funded by CA)?
