IIRC, the fee is waived for the first 2 or 3 months.

They told me 60 days after opening I would get my bonus.
Even if it's like you say I would still do it. $30x5=$150 for 50k miles. That's awesome! .3 cents per mile.

I've closed it in the past after getting the bonus, oh, and you'll remain a "citi gold" coustemer for the rest of time...

Debatable,
I had a double dip though, so in my case it definitely paid off...
I called Citi asking where my miles are after completing the requirements, the rep went ahead and 'manually' added 30k to my account,
Only to find two weeks later another 30k miles deposited 'automatically'...

i dont have serve, and cant, bc i have redcard
but i guess i can load from redcard
so i open it online? link my bank, send over 50k, make 2 deposits from RC, pay 2 bills (can i pay a few dollars of a credit card bill twice), and then i get my 30k?
