YMMV officially you have to be targeted. I was successful in calling in and having it added.

I did two QP into the account and bought a money order at the post office to meet the requirements, iirc.

There's still time, but I haven't received a 1099 for my 2014 Citigold miles. Reports on FT from early 2014 were that no 1099s were issued for bonuses in 2013. I'll be sure to post back here if I do get one before the 31st.

I'm a risk taker and I always like adventurous. With that said.
 I opened up the account today and this is what happened:
I called 866-810-9043 pressed 0 and was speaking with a rep. in less than a minute.
I asked about this promotion and got a conformation about getting 30k AA after spending $750 and making 2 bill pays.The account needs to remain open for 2 months and their is no early termination fee.
He told me that I should apply through the regular Citi bank website. I then when on to Citi.com and send up. After signing up I decided to confirm that the promotion was linked to my account. Guess what? It wasn't! No surprise at all. So I told the rep. that I got a conformation today and that's why I signed up. After a 10 minute conversation she confirmed with me that she added the promotion to my account, however this time she told me it was 50k AA after $1000 in spending.
We shall see what happens.....

Yes.  it was a 50k offer. So I got 50k AA miles.

Update. I got my miles today. I called 3 days ago and they said to expect them on the 27th so I requested them to be expedited and they were. Easy 50k, just had to wait a while. They haven't charge me monthly fees yet even though it's been like 4 months

You might want to check that they issue a rewards account num before you open the checking account

I may have an issue with this bonus. I met the bill pay requirement for month one but didn't meet the debit spend requirement. This is because I haven't yet received my debit card. I called to find out why, and it turns out they screwed up my address (street name was completely blank, so it was returned to sender). What are my chances of getting around this requirement?

I would think if you call and explain what happened they might give it to you, I spoke to 2 different reps today about opening a premier card and then the bank account right after & they both said I should be ok, but if not just call and they will be able to add them manually, it seems like the reps have some flexibility to give you the points, I saw reports on Doc of credit where people had issues and they called and they added the points manually

In the initial posting the offer for AA miles(30-50K)  the epiration date was in March 2015. Have they extended it. I would consider doing it now if he offer is still available.

I think for the past 2 years they keep extending it. Expires March 31st, they extend to June 30th, then extend to December 31st.
