I think that a lot of people agree with you, it was the +1000 that made me ask. btw I highly doubt that this op-ed was written by a bucher, looks more like it was written by a hat store owner.

regarding the article and the response, I agree that the fedora can and should still be the dress code. The issue is the Borsalino brand vs. wearing a typical fedora during weekdays just until decreased pricing occurs. Or, alternatively, can Borsalino make a lower priced fredora option?

The answer is rather simple, wear a $40 fedora you can find on amazon during the week and save the borsalino for shabbos. Should easily be able to get a decade out of a hat worn just once a week.
