My 10 year old looked out the window this morning and said "awww.... Does this mean we have school today?"

There are two models that are predicting 2 different totals for nyc. One has nyc getting 12-18 inches. The other has nyc getting 5-8 inches.

Looks like that model should not have been ignored.

Had the storm hit as bad as predicted and we'd ignored the predictions, we would have been in BIG trouble.
At this pint, with the subway and other trains not yet running (well), we can't get anywhere anyway.  Might as well play in the snow and have a leisure day.

Looks like we got 5-6" in Brooklyn. So much for the worst storm in history.  Are they going to lift the driving ban?

Looks the same here in Lakewood.

True but the problem goes the other way too do you remember how people died in sandy because they ignored the evacuation warning because they were told in the past too many times to evacuate "just to he safe"....
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

New York Mayor Bill De Blasio is secretly having truckloads of snow shipped in from Boston and dumped in the streets.

I know it's not historic, but I feel like I got at least 12" in Queens.

No where near that in Long Island, though it definitely picked up a bit. I shoveled at around 8 and now there's a fresh inch and a half.

Queens is on Long Island, but I know what you mean. I've got close to a foot on the railings of my deck, and it generally doesn't accumulate fully on a small ledge the way it does on the ground.

We got over 26 and it's still falling hard and fast.
Half an hour away in Malden only got 12.  That's the nature of storms.
