How does the executive thing work? I've been an emerald member for years, but always thought that I couldn't take the executive cars

Not that I know of. I have gold with hertz and preferred with avis, does that help?

Executive elite is better. You can match from Hertz PC, which you can get with united card.

Avis doesn't status match. Having a united club card used to get you Avis first class.
