Need to rent at IAD on 6/11 for 1 day but not showing any availability except for a pickup and minivan for $100. When I search for 2 days everything is available for $50 per day. If I rent for 2 and drop-off after 1 will I still be charged for 2 days?

Happens all the time where they don't want to deal with 1 day people. Sometimes I've seen even 3 or 4 days is not available, only longer periods.

IME, you should have no problem bringing back and getting credit for that day.

Just click on enroll now and then login your account. It will make AMEX your preferred contract rate, but you can change that back later.

In case you're not aware, people get banned from all 3 companies, National, Enterprise and Alamo for trying to rent with Honywell and other codes without documentation to prove.

Match from Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite (that you get from the same amex CC).
Works for Hertz PC as well.

Right, but I know (from experience) that with hertz its easier to get away with sketchy codes by an airport because those checkout people usually just confirm your ID. So I was wondering if it's the same at national/enterprise?

I see you got a good hang on these stuff, now to which organization should I become "dedicated" for? Isn't it for employees only? I don't see there its for members too.
Maybe in Phoenix (??) you can get through with any code but here in NYC we are going through tremendous scrutiny.

Picked up a BMW today. USE THE APP to checkout! They have a new self-checkout feature. You find your car, follow the prompts on the app to scan the car into your reservation and you are done. You have to show the gate the barcode on the app and they scan it and verify your drivers license. 2 seconds and done. I was using a different code today, not the one I posted, but I spent a total of 10seconds at the gate. They scanned the code on my phone and then just glimpsed over my ID and opened the gate. For you folks playing with codes, make sure you have everything you need online. Your CC, license, status helps, and you will be one and done. 

This was in Boston, this morning. BTW, I didn't like the selection this morning and told the dude in the National section that I was Executive Elite and wanted something different. He asked what I wanted, I told him a BMW 3 series. He went to Alamo or Enterprise and grabbed one for me. Legit!
