I just returned from a trip to Israel via VKO. Yes, the airport is very outdated. There are a limited number of stores all of which are very overpriced. Don't expect to find places to buy drinks,.The only place to buy soda is in the duty free liquor store. There are some charging stations but very hard to find. None of the people in the airport speak English which made it very difficult. The airport is under construction and looks like it's trying to modernize. As far as the flight, most of the videos did not work. There is plenty of kosher food. 30% of the passengers on my flights purchssed because of dansdeals.
op is flying aeroflot, not transaero

In my flight from JFK to TLV, I have a  1:40 stopover in SVO, Can anyone tell me if I have to go thru security between flights? I am landing in terminal D and flying from D as well.  I have no plans to leave the terminal.

You do not really go through any security. That's plenty of time assuming your flight lands on time

Thanks for answering!
In case I miss my connecting flight, what are my options? What should/could I ask for?  Will Aeroflot put me on a different carrier? Or am I stuck waiting for the next available flight (which is 24 hours later, landing very close to shabbos)?

They can put you on another carrier.  Also I would be more worried being stuck in a Russian airport for that long then landing closer to shabbos

You'll need a coat anyways if you have a stopover. In the winter it can be the same weather as out

SIN-DME on SQ (6 hr connection) DME-KBP on S7 (2 separate tickets).

Is it possible to recheck luggage in DME without leaving the airport (which would require a visa)?

With no luggage, if for some reason a boarding for the S7 flight isn't attainable online in advance, is it possible to get one in DME without leaving air-side?

Yes to both.
I flew JFK-DUS-DME-TLV. The DME-TLV was on a separate ticket.

When I got to DME I showed them my DUS-DME ticket and my DME-TLV booking on my phone.

They sent someone down to baggage arrivel to get my bag for me and printed out my boarding pass.
All in all preety painfree exept it took like 45 minutes.

I would suggest you try to get your bags interlined if you can.

To whom did you show this to, a connections desk?

And the person rechecked it for you?

Is that even possible to do between SQ and S7?

If we want to charge our phones/tablets at VKO, are there enough outlets along the walls?  We can bring a power strip to turn one outlet into six if we need to as long as there's somewhere to plug it in.  Thanks!
