If we want to charge our phones/tablets at VKO, are there enough outlets along the walls?  We can bring a power strip to turn one outlet into six if we need to as long as there's somewhere to plug it in.  Thanks!
Last time I was there I found one no problem, bring a strip to be safe.

i was just in VKO - dont understand why people claim it's outdated. Its more modern than most NYC airports. Only issue i found was the lack of bathrooms at convenient locations. I was there twice, and each gate that i waited at had a good 4 min walk to the nearest bathroom. But besides that the airport was as modern as ive seen....

In JFK I purposely stay 4 minutes away from the bathrooms

From my limited communication with them I believe they had a shower, seemed like a nice lounge.

I believe it was renovated just a few years ago. People who flew there just 5 years ago say that it was very bad. But I've heard from people lately, that today it is gorgeous.

Hey, I believe you can stay at the Radisson blue which is connected to the airport but make sure of that beforehand. (We stayed for a night and it was a peasant experience). Also leave a lot of time, nothing is particularly close. I think the lounges are mostly crowded and have no kosher food so don't expect much also the airport is large and difficult to navigate personally I would just take the lounge closest to the gate.

You can pack some bullets in your suitcase and they will arrange your stay without a visa.

No joke, I know somebody that spent months trying to get out of custody because he had a bullet on a stopover flight to jfk!

really? "a bullet" the story i heard was more than a single bullet, as they never stopped anyone for a bullet necklace or the like
either way, that kid got quite a reception when he made it back, but i doubt anyone is too jealous

Reviving an old thread...

I'll be flying Aeroflot to Israel next week with a short stop in SVO, I have 2 questions and would appreciate any help:
  • Is there a place I can comfortably Daven Shachris in Terminal D or I should just look for a less busy gate?
  • I'm debating whether I should pack a suitcase besides for my carry-on, what's Aeroflot's record on suitcases making it through on connecting flights? I don't want to take a chance of having issues

Thanks in advance

I flew Aeroflot JFK-TLV last February, no issues with davening in nearby gate, you probably won't be alone. I checked 4-5 bags (3 people), all checked bags came through. They do a pretty thorough security check in SVO for TLV bound flights.
