I still have a 6 digits amount of points in (my...) account.
If it makes you feel any better I lost 250,000 AA miles last year due to an audit. The funny part was the straw that broke the camels back was a ticket I booked for a real friend of mine as a favor.

I took a different approach based on some advice I received on the forum. I pleaded guilty, hoping for a lighter sentence and considering the crime took place over a year earlier. But I told them I did not have most of the info they requested, which was true.

Don't understand why someone would sell AA points without liquidating the entire account. Your basically forfeiting the remainder if you leave it there for some time.

Agree!

Mistakes happen... when you don't know that they have a very tough audit team.

Broker should have warned you of the risk IMO

It may raise flags and cause issues which would make it difficult to get out of

i got this today :(.

Mr. ******,

Your response is appreciated. However, our investigation revealed that the reservation contained information related to a known mileage broker, so the details of our investigation conflict with the information that you have provided.

Because it is clear from our investigation that you have been engaged in one or more violations of the General AAdvantage Program Conditions, we must now terminate AAdvantage account # ****. All membership benefits associated with this account, including all remaining miles and issued award tickets  are forfeited, effective December 7, 2016. You are no longer eligible to participate in the AAdvantage program.

Regards,

Can i still do anything??? or only this:
you can open a new account with a different DOB and address. I assume you dont have any more points in the account anymore as you sold them.

Seems like someone by mistake used the wrong email address or phone number (brokers / flagged), or didn't mask their IP (that may have already been flagged).

Your account is a goner, I'm sorry for your loss.

Even if officially no issues (assuming you're not being compensated), it may raise a flag, and you'll need to prove to them that it was all kosher, and that could be a pita.

Your new account will also get flagged. You are done for life with AA and possibly even with booking any AA award tickets from a diff account in your name as those have risk of getting canceled as well
