Selling AU/Tradelines
« on: January 28, 2015, 04:55:29 PM »
Does anyone have any experience selling AU slots for the purposes of boosting someone's credit?

I found a company, BoostCredit101, that's offering $125 per AU that I add to my card.

Sounds too sketchy and can cause you great harm.  I'd avoid.

Marco Polo, ShlockDoc: Why do you say? The AU doesn't get the card and on the CR all it shows is the first few digits of the number.

Could be legitimate, but personally i wouldn't do this for someone random, even if they were not getting the card.

It can't harm your credit if the person you add has bad credit.
But thy can probably call your bank and get another card sent to them and swipe away...

How can they call your bank when they don't have any idea who the card owner is or the account number?

Sounds really shady. There's gotta be less risky ways to make $125.

Get paid to rent out AU slots
« Reply #10 on: January 29, 2015, 02:40:43 PM »
You guys may have seen this but I just stumbled across this:

Quote
Don’t cancel those churnable cards! Do you have old cards sitting around that you haven’t cancelled or downgraded after churning? Rent your authorized user slots to us and we will pay you $200+ per month depending on your card type, history, and limit. Email investorsupport@BoostCredit101.com and mention “/r/churning” in your email for an additional one-time bonus of $75 on top of your first authorized user.

Basically they are offering a lot of cash (their monthly schedule looks quite lucrative potentially) for you to make some random person (their client, someone with shot credit who is paying for it to be rebuilt) an AU on a "good" account (old, good payment history, low carried balances and high credit line.) They claim it's not illegal and that there is no risk since the AU card gets shipped to account holder (you), and the only (minimal) risk would be the CC issuer A/Aing you. No credit pull or anything; by e-mail the guy basically told me they take you at your word up front about your credit and see if you're truthful by monitoring their clients accounts.

Thoughts?

Devil's advocate...

No.

+1

For adding a claimed "business partner" as an AU?

Sounds really shady. There's gotta be less risky ways to make $125.

Much more $ than that being offered

You should be able to put a limit on each AU so you just make the limit to 0 and from there he can do whatever he wants, he is not planning to use the card at all just so this card can go on someones CR so it should boost his score

They may be able to give their SS and have the account pulled up that way.
