Wouldn't the chase portal be a better use since those points are flexible?

They'll issue you a replacement gift card.

So at the end of the day, you bought a Gift card to get extra miles. Could just buy a GC from cardcash etc. You end up stuck with a Gift card to that store. Id say thats annoying.

Here you are buying a gift card for the exact amount that you need vs buying from cardcash and being stuck with leftovers from it.

Apparently this will earn double on the United CC, what about the sapphire or the PRG, will this earn bonus points?

True. You are trading in the possibility though of returning this item for a full refund in exchange for receiving extra points on the purchase. So if you do want to return you're stuck with a Gift card that you may be forced to sell at a discount. That discount may be more than the points you earned....Just thinking out loud here. So be sure that whatever you buy you are not considering returning. (ie ice cream or coffee)

Purchase at office max comes through as MPX*Office max. It is not coded by chase as office supplies. Coded as mslnious, so no extra points on ink.

Can someone help me out here. I've used this in the past for Visa cards. But today, they said "cant enter a gc for a visa purchase".She claimed ot was hard coded. Is it? Or can i claim that it is a prepaid card. It is a 16 digit number and a 4 digit pin.
Ofice Max.

I find MileagePlusX a useful way to extend miles expiration date for my kids. Just purchase $5 Amazon GC and the kids earn 10 miles and extend the expiration date.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!
