All jokes aside, the moral of this thread is that you should not trust someone just because he/she/they/it is a DDFer. Investigate before you put yourself at risk. Take into consideration the number of posts and the content of those posts (and your gut feeling).
Contact Henche if you got scammed.

I have seen on other forums (android something or other) the option to thank a member.
A member with lots of thank you's (shows up underneath name) is considered more trustworthy...

I'd like that. I've helped a lot of people, and many have helped me. I would want the thank you in the thread (i.e. RC, APay, etc...) however, near the profiles would be great.
And it would be great to have the chance to thank others, as well....

What about a simple "vouch for" thread where people just post positive experiences, someone can do a quick search in it before a transaction?
I believe a thread like that was opened a couple of moths back.

There are some names here that everyone knows. For example, if AJK would vouch for someone I would tend to trust him more

Who's AJK? Is he trustworthy?

I would avoid him.. Its just this feeling that he gives out I would get scared.

I do too, like the person who signed up for an account 5 minutes before asKing me to buy a kindle for him when they had that kindle deal.
But just bc Ssomeone has many posts doesn't make them trust worthy. Ill usually take a look at the content of some of their posts.
I have low post numbers and still stay away from people with low post numbers! In truth I look at their post as well. You can tell alot by someone's posts.

A DDFer in MIA told me he recognized me earlier that week.  Which was impossible as I was in CUN the whole week until then, so I told him it must have been Benny Friedman.

Seemed to go over his head though.

Actually I understood the joke
But you seemed to be enjoying quality family time out so I was not gonna sit there and have a 1/2 hour conversation
Just said hi and moved on
Next time I'll laugh at the joke

Why would post counts be counted?
There are a lot of lurkers out there.
There are so many of you who hide behind their screen name.

its not the amount of posts in particular. Its if someone posted a lot you usually get a feeling of the person.
