Users are reporting that Chase (ask via SM) will agree to match the 70k offer (or even 80k, apparently) if you spend $3,000.

Send them the required information.
But I don’t have a fed Id #

If you send in something that isn't listed in the letter as 'what they are looking for', it will reduce your chances and probably raise their suspicions. What they really want is an LRT 147 C from the IRS, but they will work with you if you can convince them you have a business.

Interesting DP. Try asking about the CSR, I wouldn't be surprised if you got the same answer.

I got an email offer to upgrade to the "new marriot rewards premier plus card" and receive 20k bonus. It's $10 more annually. Is it worth it? Will I be losing opportunity to apply for this card and receive much larger bonus? If I upgrade will it count as 5/24? Thanks.
I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.

1. Compare the value of the old annual night to the new one.
2. No
3. No

Re #2, Chase will allow me to reapply for the same card once I close it?
I see this question was brought up on DDMS, although there doesn't seem to be a firm conclusion...

On the application site it says that if you received a bonus for the other Marriott card in the last 24 months you're ineligible for the new card. Is that false?

Your username fits ;)

no clue. I assume they are the same product and as such if you are within 24months you would not be eligible.  I was talking about someone who is past 24 months.

Just to clarify:
1) If you're within 24 months of SU bonus on original card, you can upgrade for bonus but not get new 100K signup, but
2) If you're not within 24 months, you can first upgrade for 20K, then drop the card and get it again for 100K??

Here's the language: "The product is not available to either (i) current cardmembers of the Marriott Rewards Premier or Marriott Rewards Premier Plus credit card, or (ii) previous cardmembers of the Marriott Rewards Premier or Marriott Rewards Premier Plus credit card who received a new cardmember bonus within the last 24 months."

Seems pretty straightforward that anyone who got the bonus from the old card in the last 24 months is not eligible to get the bonus on the new card.

What isn’t so clear is whether you can upgrade for the 20k, close the upgraded card a week later, apply a week later for the new card and receive the 100k bonus (assuming its 24 months since original application)?
