50,000 points after spending $1,000 in 3 months:
http://www.dansdeals.com/go/marriott1/

Users are reporting that Chase (ask via SM) will agree to match the 70k offer (or even 80k, apparently) if you spend $3,000.

Excellent, so data points indicating that SM for match is currently working.
I'll try soon and report back.

You guys specifically asked to be matched to the 8th offer?

Yes. Told them that my friends got that offer and asked if it could be matched.

That's not always the case with Chase. It's a very big YMMV, unless you're talking avout the umpe.

Anyone have an answer for this? I got the Marriot card for myself and my wife. Spent the 1000 in November. Actually 1,090 on one purchase. I got the 50,000 points. Now I get a call from the place I paid the 1,090 and they said they're returning the money back to the card. What happens now with the 50,000 miles? Should I rush to put another 1090 on the card?

Iirc chase doesn't claw back bonuses though I would let others with experience chime in.
Ps. Why didn't you sm to match for 70/80k??

Guess I was confused with all the cards I've been working on. I have one for myself and one for my wife. Please, if you don't mind, point me to the right place to see how to do this, or is it too late?

Just sm them to match you to the 70k offer, just tell them a colleague of urs told u he/she got 70k for opening the same card.
Or sm them to match 80k if you spend 3k.

If it's within 3 months of the card opening then it's definitely not too late if it's after then I don't know someone else will have to chime in.

Ok. I checked the accounts. I got my card last summer and did get 80,000. I had an offer to get someone else to take a card and they'll get 50,000 and I'll get 10,000. I did that with my wife and it worked. Tried to up the amount for her with offer to spend, but no luck. Do you think an SM would help in this situation?

Another question. Can these miles be combined or used together for a trip?
