Marriott points IMO are undervalued by most people.
I found very decent places in great locations (eg. Miami) that have redemptions between 1.5cpp to 2cpp.

Marriott has WAY more hotels than SPG, Hyatt, etc. You can find Marriotts everywhere.
And they also have way more high-end hotels in prime locations.

Definitely makes me reconsider transferring Chase points to book.
And makes the SPG 25k look extremely lousy compared to 80k Marriott.

I happen to really like the Marriott cc I just got my 3rd and I'm planning to go for the ritz carlton now!
I can't say that I ever found redemption for 1.5 to 2 cpp but I definitely found for more then 1 cpp though I do believe that you found.

I got a Marriott card at the end of August. The offer was 70,000 points for I thought a $1000 spend which I did. I didn't get the points and called. I now received a letter saying the spend was $2000. Has this happened to others? Any way I can prove what the offer was back in August? Any ideas who I can call? Thanks.

I just looked up the ddms post about the 70k offer and it says there that it was for 2k spent!
Funny I'm like so sure I just remembered that it was 1k.

Ah so then it is 1k for 50k, 2k for 70k, and 3k for 80k, tough decision.

Both 1k and 2k spend for 70k offers existed.

So confusing with so many offers, not sure what is the most "active" one to SM for. It will go something like this, "Hey........... Can you please match me to the 70k for 1k offer.. "oh you can't, well how about the 70k for 2k offer? "at least if that doesn't work, another friend told me he saw an 80k for 3k offer" ...

80k definitely works I recently (maybe 2 weeks ago) did it for another ddfer.

Thanks. My mistake. Am I correct that if I cancel the card and reapply I should have no problem getting the bonus since i never received it? Any idea if I need to wait before I reapply and if yes, how long? Thanks.

I actually did get a response in SM, not email. They said ok 80,000 for 3,000 spend in 3 months from start. I said it's way past start so what can they do since I didn't know about this before. Waiting for an answer.

For the signup on the Chase Marriot Rewards, does the free Category 1-4 hotel work for any of the Ritz Carlton hotels, as Marriot points generally do?
