Users are reporting that Chase (ask via SM) will agree to match the 70k offer (or even 80k, apparently) if you spend $3,000.

While the title isn't correct for you, this seems like the most active thread for what you want.

I currently have 170K Marriott points (between me and my spouse) and they sent me something about them expiring in January and their new expiration policy (something about having to be used within a year or 18 months) and I was wondering how I can extend that date? would signing up for this card help? Thanks

It will help, as long as you meet the spend in time, to get the points to post to your account, before the exp. date.

Thanks and off topic question but for the miles and points program its a minimum of 7 nights but because you typically get 5 nights for 4. so would you get 8 nights for 7 in this scenario?

How long to wait before churning?
I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.

A couple questions about the Marriott card:

Regarding the $85 yearly fee for the 80k offer, does that get charged right away or at the end of the year?

It seems from some posts online that the lower offers such as 70k and 50k do not come with
yearly fees. Is this true? Someone posted that he applied for the lower point offer and got them to
match the higher amount. So he doesn't pay the yearly fee.  Anyone know if this works? Is it hard to get them to do match it?

I know that every year of owning the card you get a free night in a category 1-5 location. I read elsewhere that
you also receive one night free  in a category 1-4 location for first time signing up. Can anyone confirm?
(Do you not receive this if you have had the card before)?

thanks to whomever answers!

The current offer has the AF charged right away as opposed to at the end if the year as the lower/older offers.

not true, it is only waived for the first year.

Generally (till around a month ago) they would match anyone and everyone that asked even once to a higher offer for more spend, though now that they changed the offer to 80k with AF for first year it is anyone's guess if they'll still match.
And you have to find an offer fir only 50k it might be very hard.

I know that every year of owning the card you get a free night in a category 1-5 location. I read elsewhere that

Yes, you get a 1-4 for first year ane a 1-5 every anniversary.
Though there are conflicting reports if the current offer also has a 1-4 for the first year.
(Do you not receive this if you have had the card before)?
Just like all the cobranded cards you have to wait 24 months from having it last or change your FFN.

thanks to whomever answers!

How do you use the free night? Can you book online?
Also, does it expire?
Workflowy. You won't know what you're missing until you try it.

Online or putpac.
It used to be a 6 months expiration date but they now changed it to a 12 months,  and they are very easily extended.

Marriot website is showing 20% bonus for transferring marriot points to United. Some bloggers are mentioning 25% bonus and I don't know where they get 25% bonus.

I have 143k points from my Chase ritz card and tried to transfer to United but the website allows max of 112k marriot points transfer.
https://www.marriott.com/rewards/usepoints/morerew.mi

How do I transfer the entire 143351 marriot points I have to United?

Thanks
