50,000 points after spending $1,000 in 3 months:

Users are reporting that Chase (ask via SM) will agree to match the 70k offer (or even 80k, apparently) if you spend $3,000.

Once you get the anniversary Category 1-5 certificate, it stays in your account, even if you cancel your card and don't pay the AF.

I don't think he was insinuating there was a limit to the amount of churns. Rather he didn't care to throw it in during a churn and rather get other cards.
+1 that's how I read it.

Thanks. What about the actual plan? Can I close this card and reapply a couple weeks later with an auto approval?

I don't think you should go in expecting an auto-approval.

Then I'm now sure if it would be worth a try... I don't have a reasonable excuse for recon... Lol

You can hope for auto approval.
When did you apply last?
How good is your overall credit?

You can never take auto approval for granted (accept for Amex) yet we still churn all the time.
I was never asked by recon why I'm opening a specific card for a 2nd time.

Last apps were end of July, both with Chase (by the time I'd apply for Marriott it will have been over a month). Credit is ~749 (that's what Barclays gave me as of a few months ago and it hasn't been updated since).

That's not too good.
Btw barclays credit score is from TU which depending on which state is probably not what chase has.

Hello Guys,

I have the Ritz card and it coming up for AF. I cannot get away with no AF in the 2nd year - even with my lowered CL. So, I was thinking of closing my Ritz card and getting the 80K Marriot card. Will this work? They seem to be separate cards - no? Will I lose my 140K of Ritz points if I close the ritz card? Can I put my ritz account into the marriot app and will that allow me to get to 220K when I sepnd 3K on the card?

TIA!

I transferred  136K Marriot points to UA and registered for 25% bonus. I  now have little less than 8K Marriot points left which I couldn't transfer.

It seems , the transfer is not instant. How long does  it take to have the points converted to miles  and when will I see the 25% bonus miles?

Thanks

Hi everyone-
sorry if this was addressed somewhere already but i couldn't find any relevant posts on this -
I have the marriott rewards premier card, and i'm just about at the 1st anniversary date so they credited my reward account with the free night for the anniversary, but I haven't been charged the annual fee yet.
Do you think i would be able to cancel the card now and get out of the annual fee (or have it deeply prorated), while still keeping the free night in my reward account (as well as all of my existing marriott reward points)??

Thanks!
