Call. You didn't open 5 cards in 2 years it should be an easy one.

And even if not it can still sometimes just be verification.

EMAIL  says

If you'd like a different credit line, you can discuss your options with a Customer Service Specialist by calling the number on the back of your card.

None of my other cards had this, is this standard or can I call and ask for 15k instead of 5?

Thinking about getting this card again, my last bonus was over 2 years ago..
No harm in using the same Marriott number, right?

Correct. Just make sure it's 24 months from when you got the bonus not from when you got the card.

You definitely can try, although it can be tough to get  approval.

Stayed at Spring Hill Suites Miami Airport East/Medical Center in February using a certificate CAT1-5 that I received from Marriott credit card (annual) before I closed the card. closed it  afterwards and the certificate stayed in my account so I used it, and now  a month after checking out I see a charge on my credit card that's closed  of $75. and the hotel my certificate didn't go thru? any suggestion were I go from here.

just to update: called customer care they said that i was not supposed to be charged as my certificate was redeemed, I ask them to call the hotel and they did and then told me that apparently  the hotel staff has no idea what there doing and so the only thing i can do is to open case  i ask  her if she can open the  case and she did and i got refunded.

Had similar issue on spg point reservation. Disputed with Amex online never heard from anyone again, money was refunded.
