I'm going to need a second card for MBM with Reserve anyway and I just found referral link in wife's email which would make signup 97K. Tempting. You also have to wonder if this card has a future after compete merger or if there will be that Chase SPG card...
5/24? Cuz only Marriott biz is excluded and that's another pull anyway...

Thanx, anyone know the answer and doesn't mind posting it, rather then just a link to the site.
They both do

So If I have the SPG regular and over 5 chase cards, should I get this Marriot card? And this would allow me to transfer my SPG points to the Marriot?

You don't need the card to transfer point over, just a mariott account.

Yep, did this and got Marriott Gold status with zero Marriott points. I then transferred my husband's orphan Marriott points to his SPG and his points to my SPG. Might as well put them in the account with status.

How did you get Marriot gold without points?

SPG Gold matches to Marriott Gold - SPG Gold can be attained with the AMEX Platinum cards.

Like yuguy said, I matched via SPG. I have a Marriott account but no Marriott CCs or points. I got Gold with SPG due to spend versus the Plat. Plan on getting Marriott Business and possibly Ritz but hoping they go back to points versus free nights.
