50,000 points after spending $1,000 in 3 months:

Users are reporting that Chase (ask via SM) will agree to match the 70k offer (or even 80k, apparently) if you spend $3,000.

Once you get the anniversary Category 1-5 certificate, it stays in your account, even if you cancel your card and don't pay the AF.

Anyone know how long it takes to show up in my Marriott account?
the free night showed up in mine before I got the card in the mail.  The points probably show up after the spend is complete and the statement closes.

no you won't lose it. I canceled my card in Feb. cuz of the AF they refunded the AF but they didn't touch the free night (which I got for the 2nd year)

Make sure that youre on the Residence inn side of the building. The courtyard side doesnt have central park views. This hotel has floor to ceiling windows so the higher up you go the better the views. I got upgraded to a corner room overlooking central park and midtown/times square and it was amazing (small rooms though)

71k is nice you can use it for 2 - 7 nights + your free night certificate. It may sound weird but I like to watch Airplanes (it's very interesting to figure out how it works)  so I went here for a night and asked for a window facing the airport. It's also a nice hotel

There are Marriotts that are only 10K, not sure if any in NY.
