Users are reporting that Chase (ask via SM) will agree to match the 70k offer (or even 80k, apparently) if you spend $3,000.

FYI I was recently helped out by a Marriott rep who used to work for the pre-arrival team. He told me that because I was short less than 3k points for my stay, that the pre-arrival team would review my reservation and award me the points to get me to the required # for my reservation.

I contacted them a couple times and they all told me I needed to wait. And after I wanted - they still didn't transfer the other 20k so now I have to wait again. My reason was anniversary - but they didn't care, lol
After dealing with SPG's reps Marriotts reps are just obnoxious and unwilling to help.

Darn, my statement just posted and no points, apparently the last 200 of the spend threshold is still pending.  I need the points for my honeymoon in one month, any ideas?
Maybe change statement date to say the 15th and hope the change takes effect this month.

I thought the bank randomly gives you the date.. I didnt know you can choose your own date to close/receive your statements...

Yep. I make all mine the 1st of each month so I don't get confused. BTW -- when you do this it usually pushes your first statement back a whole extra month.... which can be a pretty good thing if you play your cards right  8)

Can someone tell me a nice Marriot I can send my parents to?

1) I have the certificate (which came with the CC)
2) It should be either in NY or NJ
3) Preferably kosher food around in case they want to eat out.

Thanks

There's no chashash it's just that everyone has their Hechsheirim they eat or don't eat
You can send them to Courtyard in Red Bank NJ which is 20 minute way to Deal NJ where you can get Kosher food

New to forum and had a question on Marriott card - Hope its ok on this thread.  I just got approved for a Bold Ink Card last week. I got a offer for 70K miles on Marriott Premier. I have the regular Marriott card which has a 15 year credit history - gives age to my profile. It was my only card prior to this. Is there a way to get my old account upgraded instead of opening a new account.  and having 2. I dont think I would want to close the 15 yr old card.

try to down grade current card though chase wont do a product change for every card for example any united card can be down grade to a united product only

1) Upgrading will not get you the bonus points. 2) I don't think you should close it either, call Chase and see what they can offer to do with this card.

i signed up for the 70k offer, i sm'd to match to the 80k offer and i got a response that as a courtesy they will give me an extra 20k after i spend $3000 and i should sm back when i reach that spend.
70+20 = 90
do i have a chance of getting the extra 10k or will they realize that its a mistake

Question is whether they'd clawback the points for realizing it. If they won't then there's no reason why not to ask.
