You are most probably correct though it's still a good deal, since anyone buying these is obviously doing so for the name and look since if they were buying it for the sound quality they WOULDN'T get these

The next Beats Studios have decent sound quality. I spoke to the head of Beats engineering about them. They cost about $50 to make, a very high price for the headphone world. My friend manufactures them.

Maybe I'd believe it's $50 with R&D, shipping, salaries and more, but just raw parts in a factory in China for $50 sounds hard to believe.

Anyway you can buy fakes yourself for $10 all over the internet.

The magnets can take days of machining to produce....

Also, there about are 10 grades of fake, ranging from roughly 11 cents to about $100 depending on the model and quality.

I bought fake ones for $18 and I'm very impressed with the quality. The only problem was that it was hard to adjust them because it was very stiff so you couldn't make it smaller. After a while though it became looser and I'm very happy with them

I am looking to buy earbuds in the $100 range. I do not need noise cancelling - just a great sound.

Which brand should I buy? Bose (free style) OR Beats (urBeats)?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
