price protection
« on: January 13, 2011, 06:54:09 PM »
does anyone know if any of the amex cards have this feature, or only the co oneplus card?    (price protection is "If you find an ad, online or in-store, that the price of an item you bought within the past 90 days is lower than what you paid, you can get a refund of up to $500 per item and $1,500 per year!")

You'll see that many if not all MCs offer this. I believe that even my debit card from schwab has it.

Definitely not all MC's have it.
Most do not.

Right, EliKay directly me to Google is a cheap shot :P

I'm sorry to have offended you sensibilities, it was not c"v meant that way.  :'( :'(
Anyway, all I was showing is that many banks including citi, provide or have provided this (I also had it on Citi). I will take back what I said that all "might" provide it, as Dan has disputed that.

Notice the :P , I'm not that easily offended.

I've seen this feature before, my brain is whirring coming up with ways to maximize its utility...

:) I was also being sarcastic.
There are  discussions on other sites about it. Definitely a possible moneymaker.

Just realize that this price protection for the tickets is offered by the airlines not mc. All mc is doing is monitoring the ticket prices for you

I didn't want to start a new thread and couldn't find one specifically for barclays.

I filled a price protection claim on the barclays card over here but after I already sent in the required docs I ended up returning the product entirely so I replied to the email saying that the claim can be closed since I returned the merchandise.

Today, about 2 weeks later I get a check in the mail  :-\

PS. What's also strange is that the amount doesn't even make sense, it should be $32.02 but the check is for $18.52
If it's not free shipping it's not worth it.
