Become a google maps explorer. You get 1TB for two years or something. Dan does it.

yeah your probably right - 2 years not worth it... what happens to your storage when the 2 years are over? do they delete your excess storage?

any long term solutions?

They probably don't delete but don't allow new emails unless you delete or pay.

There's a way to search for attachments over a certain size in your gmail, go through those and delete some

Also check. Google Drive if you don't have large files there. If it's still not enough then pay, they charge only $2 a month for 100GB. It's worth it, if you need the space.
