United Airlines mistaken fare

The Department of Transportation is aware of an issue involving mistaken fares on United Airlines’ Danish-facing website.  The Department's Office of Aviation Enforcement and Proceedings has begun looking into this matter, including speaking to United and reviewing consumer complaints.  That Office will gather all the relevant facts before making a determination as to whether United is or is not required to honor the mistaken fares.

To Whom It May Concern,

Yesterday I purchased a flight itinerary from United Airlines via their website: United.com. The flights were booked, I was issued a 'confirmation number' and my card was charged for the full amount of the fare. A short time later United.com indicated that my itinerary was "confirmed and ticketed". I have attached a printout from United.com showing this, as well as a printout of my receipt indicating that the airfare was booked, ticketed and paid for.

Yesterday I was informed by United that they had voided my itinerary. This was done without my knowledge and without my consent.

As such, I ask that you please compel United Airlines to honor the ticket which they sold me, and to provide compensation for their grievance and the inconvenience which it caused me.

United is looking into an issue whereby a third-party software provider applied an incorrect exchange rate for tickets sold from the airline’s Denmark website. We have temporarily suspended sales from the Denmark website and are working to resolve the issue with the provider

The United cancel and rebook page gives me the option to cancel and rebook this reservation.

1) Does this page normally work for nonawards?

2) If I cancel and rebook, think there's a chance it'll reprice at this rate?

ETA: It says credit of 1252 miles and 0 DKK.  :o

Just wait until it settles and you will probably see only one charge for the tickets and one for the booking fee.
Just in case not-am I ok if I have the receipt that shows that the total was only 1886 DKK ($283) even if they post extra charges for some reason (meaning can I get off any double charges etc. by using the reciept)-and no I am not complaining abt any tkt fee-just curious what might be the outcome here ;)

Thanks for the deal! Two questions though:

I booked LHR-ZRH-TLV-ZRH-LHR through United/Swiss in Business for $150.  Manage Reservations says that it will take up to 24 hours to receive confirmation from Swiss Air. What are the odds it will actually finish ticketing? 

Second: I did receive confirmation for the second itinerary of LHR-EWR-CLE, but then not sure how that works with United canceling LHR-EWR daily service.  Would they rebook through JFK or ..?

they are not cancelling that daily service they are cancelling london ontario-ewr
