CITI requires hard pull to shift credit from one card to another???

I have two Citi AA cards- both with aprox. $8500 limit. My AF just posted on one, so I called and asked the rep to move over the credit and then close the account and she says she will need to pull credit and then also will need to ask me some questions about my income???

Iv'e never had this in the past, they always move atleast some of the credit over with no pull. Anybody have experience with this lately?Advice?HUCA?   TIA!!!

Citi tells you they might pull
And they usually do

I have the same issue!  But they told me that if I change the account to one of their no af cards they wouldn't pull.  Does anyone have any advice as to what card to switch to? I want to close the account Executive card, but I think that if I just get the no af aa card, I wouldn't be able to get any sign in bonus for  18 months.

Correct, but I had to HUCA to make it happen.  The first time I called a csr told me it can't be done.

do you have any clue to whether it made a difference regarding which card you transfer credit too ?

Downgrading a card isn't "shifting credit" and will not result in a pull.

she never said she downgraded only that " I closed exec. To open double cash" which could mean closed card to shift credit to other card...
