Delta cancelling a flight within 24 hours of departure

Can I book a delta flight for tonight, then cancel under the risk free guarantee to get a full refund? 

I couldn't find the exact answer for this. TIA

might I suggest changing the thread title to read "Canceling a Delta flight within 24 hours of departure" 
The current title looks like Delta is canceling your flight

I don't think you can unless your elite.CMIIW
You're definitely not protected by the DoT 24 hour cancellation rule.

No it doesn't. It just says that you have 24  hours to cancel. Doesn't say anything specific about it being within a certain time-frame of the flight. If that was from the airlines T&C then I would agree with you, but I would not infer that from the article.

What's the purpose of doing this? You're not sure if you want to fly?

The 24 hour cancelation at delta is only till midnight the night before the flight
