I have 200,000 American miles. What is the dollar value of the miles if I were to sell them?

PSA- Good chance you get shut down by AA if you sell.

PSA- Good chance you get shut down by AA if you sell. to a broker - that's not super careful.

-0.5 most brokers when it comes to AA they'll say they only pay you for the points after using it!

How is it the brokers problem when AA blacklists you?

You can't expect to keep your account open if you sell AA...if you do sell, you will have the money (assuming broker paid) and any tickets canceled is broker's problem. Many people who have had accounts shut have been successful in opening new ones.

If you sell once you may get away with it.. But I wouldnt recommend it. AA is good at what they do in this dept.

I was under the impresion that if you sell an account of lets say 100k and someone uses it to book a 100k redemption the chances of AA catching on and making problems are very slim. The problems occur when you book multiple tickets for different names out of the same account.

True, but lets say the person that travels is a frequent flyer on a Cathay route lets say, and AA flagged that person as someone who always travels on CX on points from different accounts you can/may get shutdown even after 1 time. But if you emptied out your account you may not care
