This is GREAT! I flew Air Canada business from SYD-YVR-YYZ and it was just as good as UA F.

Coming from PIT where I have to (usually) connect to get to LAX or SFO anyway, I think I would totally spend the 10k UA to get the prop plane from PIT-YYZ then do lie-flat to California.

Or "Miles and More" 35K round trip :-)

Of course, you must start and end in Canada.

ETA: Forgot that there is fuel surcharges. Any idea how much?

PIT-YYZ is 12.5K.

There are lie-flats to LAX-SFO from EWR and PIT-EWR is 10K.
Or use 4.5K BA PIT-JFK and take a lie-flat from there.

Not that it rly matters, but the lie-flats from EWR and the UA lie-flats from JFK are not widebody

I know, I know. But I just cannot BEAR going BACKWARD. I had to fly to LAX a couple weeks ago and I opted for stopping over in ORD rather than go backwards to ERW or JFK and fly lie-flat from there.
