You can now earn SPG points for using Uber. Go to spg.com/uber to sign up.

I Didn't see any mention of it on SPG's site, but the USA Today article mentions that on Saturday (if you link your accounts) you'll be able to select a SPG vehicle and you'll earn 15,000 starpoints!

OK 15k is seriously an amazing amount of SPG points for a cab ride.

Got to see if I can convince my rents to do some leg work for this. Any idea if it's actually true / exact terms? They aren't in NYC, rather CT, but maybe I can convince them to get down to nyc/brooklyn to visit the fam anyway. Potentially Uber nyc is part of fairfield county area of CT? anyone know?

It seems like as long as the allotted number of suiterides haven't been used you'll be able to reserve one, and if you do then you for sure get the 15k.

It's a little unclear, but IINM if you are able to select the SPG ride you get the suiteride and the 15k.

On Saturday, February 28 riders who link their SPG accounts have the chance to request a special SPG car and experience a #SuiteRide from 2 pm until 7 pm local time.

Every rider who gets an SPG #SuiteRide will receive 15,000 points

On one hand the Uber website says "Every rider who gets an SPG #SuiteRide will receive 15,000 points – good for a free night at any qualifying Starwood hotel and favorite products from one of Starwood’s hotels" but later it refers to lucky winners. I think it means that they are only offering the suite rides to a select few customers.

In case no one has figured this out yet, Amex stay credits don't count as an eligible stay to start earning Starpoints with Uber, award stays do count, and using Uber credits will indeed earn you Starpoints.
