My flight from DEN to LGA was diverted to CLE due to bad weather in NY. The following morning, the same plane flew me from CLE to LGA with a new flight number and boarding pass, but the same booking reference number on the boarding pass. To me, it seems obvious that I should earn miles for either the distance from DEN to CLE plus the distance from CLE to LGA, or I should earn miles for the distance from DEN to LGA, which is probably only a few miles less than the sum of the two segments. Am I right? However, my Frontier activity shows that they awarded miles for the distance from DEN to LGA, voided them, and then awarded miles for only CLE to LGA.
I called, tweeted and filled out the online form to request the missing miles for the first segment, but got nowhere. Their stance is that my flight from DEN to LGA was "changed" to a flight from CLE to LGA without acknowledging the obvious, that they are the ones who transported me from DEN to CLE. If feels silly arguing over the missing 1200 miles or so when I consider how low of a value they have.
