What do you mean? Every factory is OEM. I am sure these are not MFI certified. Nobody is losing $5 on each product they sell. There are much cheaper ways to get good ratings like selling high quality non MFI cables for $1. Those cost about $1 to make. Real MFI cables cost up to $5 . Please do not try to scam DDFers.

I heard MFI certification costs $4 alone, if that's true should cost a more than $5, no?

The connector costs between $1.80-$2.50 plus tax but the quality of the cable must be high so the cables gets pricy. I am on the way to a factory now to purchase 50K of them.

Can you explain why cables (even MFI) tear so quickly?
Are there any cables that would last at least a year and how much would they cost?

I bought that one about a year ago, it is expensive but it has a 6 foot cable with is convenient, and the cable is very strong. wouldnt be surprised if this last me a few more years (until apple redesigns it)

I have done some kevlar cables before. But cables are cables, they break.

I haven't tossed my 30-pin devices yet. I still buy new cables every few months.
