Washington heights, boys and girls, nursery: $11,500+
Toronto, boys and girls, nursery and kindergarten, $4,500+
Toronto, boys and girls, chabad nursery, $4,000
Oh, I forgot to mention. I get a tax receipt (legitimately) for almost all of my tuition in Toronto

OH also gives vouchers for free tuition for low-income families.
Why aren't more people moving there for this reason?
I know a few guys in Cincinnati, and this is the sale that was made to them.

I don't have actual numbers but you should see what your neighbors in Quebec pay...

A lot less. If I remember correctly the price for nursery is $7 a day.

As to your last question, beats me... :P

Cleveland, nursery, $4,150 with lunch included from 9am-2pm. (9am-4pm is available for $5,420).

Man, we should all move out to CLE. Tuition in NY is insane.

If we could just get the yeshivas in NY to charge $7 a day as taxes are already through the roof.

Now I mean seriously through the roof. Like more than half your paycheck and IIRC a 16% sales tax...

(of course if you're poor you'll get it all back in a variety  of ways...)

By poor I meant not rich. If you have more than a certain amount of children it doesn't pay for you to go to work anymore...

AFAIK, NY is actually somewhere in the middle. I have been told (possibly incorrectly) that there are smaller cities that are much more expensive and some, like Clevland, are much cheaper.

I believe that Darchei charges somewhere like $13,000.

Tuition for all ages is great in QC! Montreal is the perfect place to live if you want to live off the government or if you are a student.

Good news for NYC people is that we now have UPK, so 4yo programs are extremely cheap (you're technically only paying for the 'extra' time during which they focus on the Jewish stuff because it's not allowed during the UPK funded time). One program in KGH is $1500, and another $1800.

Only applies to NYC and the rule is that religious topics should not be taught. I spoke to several people within the Jewish Ed department about it and as example, making a bracha over snacks they give out would , according to the rules for UPK, not be allowed. Not saying they don't find ways around it. But again, only applies to the City.
