Got this card a year ago. AF is posting soon. Any reason to keep this card?
I fly AA a lot but for that I have a Citi AA Executive card.

The AF is cheaper on the Aviator.

Yes, it's much cheaper. But there is a reason I pay for my Citi Exec Plat. I use the Admirals Lounge at least 100 times a year. So... assuming I am keeping my Citi Exec Plat... any reason to also keep Aviator?

You can get the AF waived pretty easily.

Figured it's worth a new thread, as it's almost here. Rumors are that it will be available for new signups, not just conversion of existing USAir cards.

I was wrong here about it being available for new signups when it first came out. But starting in January, you will be able to apply for an Aviator! Gary: http://viewfromthewing.boardingarea.com/2016/07/12/american-strikes-new-credit-card-agreement-winner-citi-barclaycard/

And lets hope that Barclays comes out with a business product.

I just got an email offering an upgrade to silver.  Anything that makes it worth $195? I'm not a frequent flyer.

No real benefit.

40k miles, no min spend:https://www.applyaviator.com

What if you already have this card, converted from US Airways?

Is this discussed elsewhere?

It is being discussed in the US Air thread,  although this is obviously a more appropriate thread.  The other one should be locked for new posts by now.

Someone did already get a 2nd card.

Thanks. He was approved. We don't know if he'll get the bonus. Do we?

Usually Barclays gives you the bonus if you're approved.  Obviously with this new rollout they could surprise us, but based on past behavior the bonus will be granted.

Not yet, there should be another in 2017.

No, there's no spend requirement so you're basically buying 40k AA for $95 and that's only if you can't get the AF waived. I got an M&M, Aviator, and Arrival + in one day so you can always try for those as well although getting three barclay cards at once is not the norm.
