ASIDE FROM PRICE - Can this be the best way to liquidate GC? I mean it will combine all GC, CC & DC into one - so no cashier would know the difference..?

Thoughts, or just silly?

I see where it says it will store "unlimited" cards, and yes, you would be using the Stratos card instead of a GC, etc. but it doesn't say anywhere that it actually combines them together (which actually sounds kind of impossible).

Seems like you'd still need to use each stored card separately, separate swipes, etc.

So to make it worthwhile you would need to load how many GCs?
Fair warning - Any PMs sent in response to forum posts are fair game for ridicule in public.

I think you misunderstood me, but it's possible I missed something about the product.

If I understand the product correctly, it doesn't save you anything in terms of dollars and cents. Instead of using your GCs for purchases at a store, or online, or doing whatever you do with them, and carrying them around, you'd instead have this very cool looking credit card that alone would contain all of your GCs.

It might be safer. It might be easier. It doesn't seem to me to make anything cheaper.

I think you are correct.
Additionally, i assume this would have your name on it, so no more issues that the GC doesn't have a matching name.

Seems very similar, but Stratos seems a. available now, Coin doesn't seem to be, b. possibly more expensive, depending how long the respective batteries really last, c. seemingly easier to actually load cards.

Absolutely, sure.

But you'd still need to swipe multiple times (now with the same exact card) if you are trying to do a split tender of some kind, or to load Serve/RC at a cashier, which might be weird in and of itself, or not. And it's $95/year, or $145 for two.

Undeniably cool, not enough value for me yet, I don't think.
