Reaching Amex higher ups
« on: March 04, 2015, 10:36:37 AM »
I have a big issue with an AMEX RC that got shut down with about 2k still in it. CS keeps telling me they have no information other that "the account is under review". It's been about 2 weeks and still no update. Supervisors as well have no information to give me. Of course, the money was loaded with a CC (AMEX CC actually) and so I need it to pay the bill. Does anyone know of an executive line to reach somebody higher up in the company that can help solve this? Also, what does the oilam think about my dispute options given that I loaded with an AMEX CC in Target?
And no, before people jump on me, I don't think this belongs in the regular RC load thread. Its a question on how to reach the right guy in Amex.

No it doesn't. As I said this is a question of who to reach in AMEX when you have a problem beyond was CS can do. It's got nothing to do specifically with RC.

remind me, what card did you load?
if someone is talking about loading the RC with his CSP, does that belong on the CSP thread?

this is not an "i told you so", but its for this reason why i always liquidate most of my funds right after loading. i just leave some behind for potential target spending

Ok here we go with the "it doesn't belong here" debate. I'm not talking about loading the RC. In fact  ignore the words RC and u stead insert (XYZ). It's a general question concerning AMEX higher ups. Now let's focus on that instead of arguing where the thread belongs. It's at worst debatable.

Not 100% sure. I had 2 of them and a merchant mistakenly refunded more than he charged to one of them. That was shut down right away. I transferred in the past from that one to my other one and a few days later they shut that one too.

I can't answer that. Sorry. All the shutdowns that I'm aware of, their accounts were empty.

Aj3042, your goal is to reopen your RC, or at minimum get your funds back. Correct?
So a thread to 'reach a higher up at Amex' is your proposed solution.  But maybe someone in the RC thread has a different solution to your problem.

My goal is first to get money back, then reopen. But this has nothing to do with RC thread on which I've never seen mention of a shutdown, only loading issues.

This is the first instance of shutdown of RC that ive heard. I just dont understand the carelessness of miscalculating loads, refunds etc. Its simple math. How do you mess that up?
