Azerbaijan Airlines flies to New York now and has some very good one way and round-trip deals from JFK to Tel Aviv and vice versa. Roundtrip in "X" class starting at $696.62 with nice connection times in Baku. Aircraft are Airbus A320 and Airbus A340 types with expected Dreamliner service to commence upon delivery.

I spoke to a friend who is from Bako, he said it's a better airline then the Russian airlines because it's government and family owned.

I spoke to a friend who is from Bako, he said it's a better airline then the Russian airlines because it's government and family owned.

Azerbaijan Airlines is the pride and joy of the government and people of the country. You can notice the very catchy liveries that it aircraft carries. They fly modern Airbus and Boeing Jets on their long haul service.

Baku is a favorite destination for tourists and Azerbaijan has a close strategic and economical relationship with the state of Israel. Baku also has a large Jewish population. I would recommend stopping over in Baku to experience the city.

From the US it is $40 for one entry and $60 for a double entry.

Doubt you need a visa if you are just staying in the airport

Again, just clarifying. It really is safe for a young female to take this flight? I understand the diplomatic relationships with Israel and all but just to be sure- has anybody used the airline before?
