OK, I saw someone comment on another dansdeals post saying that they were once denied a rental car in Israel because their credit card didn't have raised letters and numbers. I mean, I can just imagine something like that happening in Israel because it's so crazy that you can't make it up, but on the other hand....really? Are they really going to reject my business because of how my bank decided to print my name and credit card number on my card? The only difference I can see this making is that with a card without raised letter/numbers, they can't use those old machines to make an imprint of the card (if they even still do this, I haven't seen it done in years). Seriously, I have the card right there; put it in a scanner or even just write the number down or something.
The reason I ask this is that I have a world mastercard (Capital One Quicksilver), and this the only credit card I have that covers collision/theft in Israel (Amex unfortunately doesn't). That card does not have raised lettering. Am I really in jeopardy of them denying my rental because of how Capital One designs their cards? Has anyone had any experience either way with this issue? I'm probably renting through Noach if that helps (unless someone knows of a cheaper method). Thanks!
