HOPE I DIDN'T GET MYSELF IN TROUBLE!
my story: I have a amex plat for nearly 8 yrs, when I recently looked on my CR, I realized that on experian, the 'open since' date says 06/11 !! so I went ahead and opened a dispute with experian saying that the history is not accurate since its open for 7+yrs [not backdated]
the result of the dispute was that amex hadn't reported it only from 06/11 furiously I called amex credit bureau unit which said there is noting to do from they're end and they're reporting it since its open,
so I was running back and forth amex-experian-amex...
until I finally spoke to a supervisor in that Dep in amex [via call back, they won't take your call ]
which after alotof begging he came back telling me that he has forwarded my account to 'a special review team‘ which will look into my account  and I should call back a week for results,

do you think I got myself in trouble like FR etc. being under the radar from a review team looking into my account
any help? or any ideas how to solve my problem?
I'm just say'in©®

I know this is old thread but didn't want to start new one and wasn't sure where to ask....

Considering that I close many cards to later churn similar card and get bonus and my Amex SPG (or any Amex personal) I can no longer do that and get bonus, I'm considering keeping this card to build history with. So I realized that my SPG Amex card said on it "member since 2014", eventhough I have been a member of Amex (not this card) since 1995. So I called Amex and asked them to update the card info to now say "member since 1995".

Question is: Did I gain anything as far as history on my credit report is concerned?

Well yes you added 10 years to the credit history of the card (assuming they report those years).

Hmm I think we got to make old post dates in bold letters (at least the year) :).
